CMPI Fellows

Fellows of Center for Media & Peace Initiatives are accomplished individuals in the areas of media and public policy. The primary objective of CMPI Fellows is to recognize the achievement of excellence and expertise of each fellow in different fields.

 

This international honorary association of noteworthy individuals are drawn from the academia, business, government, research institutions and organizations around the world who are chosen because they support the goals of the center.

 

CMPI Fellows become part of an active think tank, producing new ideas, resources for other fellows and their  own projects.

Ehtesham Shahid’s career traverses the world of media and public policy. As a journalist and editor at several leading media outlets and think tanks in India and the Gulf region for around two and a half decades, Ehtesham brings to CMPI decades of experience reporting for The Indian Express, Khaleej Times, Al-Arabiya, Arab News, and TRENDS Research & Advisory. Ehtesham presently serves as Editor at the Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Policy Center and worked as Editor at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies & Research (ECSSR) before assuming a similar role as Managing Editor at Al Arabiya English. Ehtesham has worked in a Corporate Communications role at the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation as a Content Writer at Tata Interactive. While serving as a correspondent with the Press Trust of India (PTI), Ehtesham occasionally teaches media and communications at different universities in the UAE. He writes regular opinion columns for the Khaleej Times and Arab News and makes frequent news television appearances and represented TRENDS magazine as Business Editor at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), Egypt, and Jordan. Ehtesham’s research interests include international relations, artificial intelligence, rural economics, Urdu literature, art and culture, and the environment.
He holds a master’s degree in English literature from AMU Aligarh and a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communications from Bombay University. His passion includes podcasting human-interest stories.
